Non-Typical Whitetail Deer

September 23, 2009

I had spotted this deer on the first day of the hunt, but wasnt able to get a good shot off. On the third day of the hunt, I spotted the big whitetail again while making my way through heavy brush. At around 40 yards he gave me a broadside shot which i took, I shot him right in back of the front shoulder and the deer ran off about 20 yards and then fell dead under a tree. When i went to see him, i had noticed that the slug had passed through both shoulders, and left a significant blood trail; which made recovering him a very easy task. Thank you Lightfield!
