|

One of your club member account preferences determines whether other club members see your real name or your screen name when you post messages or message replies to the Discussion Board. When you originally created your club member account the default value assigned to this preference causes your real name to be withheld.

I shot my deer at very close range so why was there no exit wound?
|
| A: |
Lightfield slugs are not designed to pass through an animal. Energy expended by any slug once it has passed through a target is purely wasted energy. Lightfield slugs are the heaviest and largest diameter slugs available on the market today. They are engineered to expand to a maximum diameter and impart their total kinetic energy upon target impact in the form of hydraulic shock. After all, wound channel size and tissue damage is more important to the swift harvest of game than the number of trees killed after the slug exits. Regardless of the slug being shot, it is ultimately the hunter's responsibility to ensure recovery of their game by taking shots only at the animal's vital areas.

What round would you recommend I shoot through my smooth bore gun equiped with a screw in rifled choke tube?
|
| A: |
So that smooth bore gun owners may take advantage of the inherent accuracy of the Hybred EXP, Lightfield Ammunition Corp. has a sabot slug (Lightfield Lites) specifically designed for use with screw-in rifled choke tube systems. You will get very good accuracy with the Lites/rifled choke combination --- in fact and as a rule of thumb, the longer the rifled tube the better the accuracy.

Why is the casing on my Lightfield slug a different length than that of the same length slug from a different manufacturer?
|
| A: |
The length of all casings should be measured after they are fired. The post-firing casing length is the definitive measurement that determines the proper fit of that casing within your gun's chamber. For example, a 2-3/4" slug designed to be fired in a 2-3/4" chamber has a measured casing length of 2-3/4" only after it has been fired. This allows good transfer of the slug from the end of the hull to the leads of the rifling. |

| A: |

You will want to check with these retailers as well as with your local gun shop to see if they have stock.
